That’s a good point about the market’s inability to actually realistically price productive ability, that it’s all just “ghost trading” now. Unfortunately this has “trickled down” and is reflected in people’s lives too; we have lost common sense and the cultivation of the simple things that actually matter. Ivan Illich is a good guide for our predicament with his emphasis on appropriate technology and the convivial society. Unfortunately barbarism and collapse in some flavor is unavoidable at this point and the destruction is baked-in, as you mention. We are entering a worldwide whirlpool of forces - the alpha window of a phase shift- and what gets seeded over the next decade or so will have radical ramifications for the future. It truly is a time of transition. Check out @Michael Haupt work for a thorough deep dive into these threshold times. Cheers!

"Socialism or Barbarism!"

-Rosa Luxemburg

"The essence of capitalism is to turn nature into commodities and commodities into capital. The live green earth is transformed into dead gold bricks, with luxury items for the few and toxic slag heaps for the many. The glittering mansion overlooks a vast sprawl of shanty towns, wherein a desperate, demoralized humanity is kept in line with drugs, television, and armed force."

-Michael Parenti (RIP)
